Acemind Academy offers one-to-one online maths tuition for Classes 1–12 on CBSE, ICSE, Kerala State, IB and IGCSE. Your child works live online with one maths tutor, following their own school textbook, and you receive a written summary after each class. Maths is cumulative. A child who never quite settled fractions finds ratio and percentages harder a year later, and a shaky grip on negative numbers turns every algebra chapter into guesswork. In a crowded classroom those gaps rarely surface until a test exposes them. In a one-to-one class there is nowhere for them to hide — which is exactly the point.
Your child’s maths tutor watches each problem being solved and stops at the line where the reasoning slips: a sign dropped while expanding brackets, a formula applied to the wrong case, a unit forgotten at the end. Fixing the method at that moment is far more useful than seeing a red cross on the final answer a week later.
One-to-one also means the pace belongs to your child. A confident student can move quickly through routine exercises and spend the saved time on harder application questions; a hesitant one can slow down on a single idea until it holds, without feeling that the class is waiting.
Every class follows the textbook and chapter order your child’s school uses, so tuition and schoolwork move together instead of competing for attention. Broadly, the focus shifts like this as your child moves up:
The same topic can look quite different from one board to the next — in the order it is taught, the depth expected and the way questions are framed. So your child’s tutor works to the exact paper they will sit:
In a typical class the tutor introduces the new idea, works one example alongside your child, then hands over the next problem for them to attempt while the working is watched. Doubts are cleared the moment they come up rather than saved for the end, and the last few minutes go on what to practise before the next class.
Closer to exams the balance changes: more timed practice, more questions in the style of past papers, and more attention to how answers are set out, because school board papers generally give marks for the method as well as the final answer. Your child learns to show the steps an examiner is looking for.
All that is needed at home is a laptop or smartphone with a stable internet connection. A notebook and pencil still do most of the work.
After every online class you get a written summary of the chapter covered, the problems your child solved, the step where they got stuck, how the tutor corrected it, and what to practise next. Our team reviews each summary before it appears in your parent portal, which also keeps a history of the classes your child has completed.
Read a few weeks of summaries together and a pattern appears — whether the same kind of error keeps returning or has gone quiet, and which chapters are still shaky. If something is not clicking, tell us: the approach can change, or we can arrange a different maths tutor.
